My name is Cem Marifet as you already know… I am originally from Izmir , Turkey, a city on the Aegean cost. I am currently a student of computer and information science at The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. I love my major because I live it! I sometimes spend hours on my PC after getting home from work, which involves working on computers. Besides computers I like to play guitar. I have played classical guitar since I was 12. Recently I am into acoustic guitar. Once in a while I play at parties with my friend Omer . (depends on the party of course :) ) I also like to play doumbek. It is a kind of drum. It lets me get wild and loosen up…
You can see a couple of videos of me. There are two versions, Turkish and English... I ‘d like to tell you a little about my life here in Columbus; my expected graduation is Fall 2000 . I am also minoring in Persian. If you know Persian send me a Salaam! I work on campus in the computer labs as a site assistant (helping people get through certain programs and basic Internet applications) It’s fun… I like to cook! Yeah just fry those mushrooms with a zesty red wine sauce and voila! I cook Turkish and Persian foods most of the time. Kebabs and rice are my specialty… So stop by my place in Columbus for a treat! My other passion is photography. I usually travel on breaks to different cities sometimes on longer vacations to other countries. I take my trusty Canon Rebel G camera with me at all times. I like photography because a nice photo can bring back the good memories that you had when taking it. I took a lot of pictures in Turkey. When I was there the last time. My family lives in Izmir. We have a summerhouse on the beach. I love the relaxed, care-free lifestyle. There is nothing to do but sun tanning, swimming, scuba diving and eating Kebabs! I hope to go there again soon.
